1. Purpose and scope
Get a Murshid connects Seekers with Murshids for practical, personal guidance. These Guidelines supplement our Terms. They apply both to public content and private interactions arranged through the Platform. Conduct outside the Platform may also be reviewed where it creates a credible safety risk, involves a Platform transaction, or shows an attempt to evade these rules.
Context matters. We consider severity, intent, impact, history, credible evidence, and risk of recurrence. Educational discussion of a sensitive issue is not the same as endorsing harmful conduct.
2. Respect, dignity, and inclusion
You may disagree, challenge ideas, or decline a request. You may not:
- harass, bully, stalk, threaten, intimidate, shame, or repeatedly contact someone after they ask you to stop;
- attack or dehumanize people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, caste, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or another protected characteristic;
- use slurs, sexual harassment, degrading comments, unwanted romantic advances, or coercive pressure;
- encourage discrimination, segregation, violence, or exclusion from essential services; or
- retaliate against someone for a report, refund request, honest review, boundary, or disagreement.
Murshids may discuss faith, values, culture, identity, and difficult life choices when relevant, but must do so without coercion, humiliation, forced conversion, or claims that disagreement makes someone unsafe or unworthy.
3. Safety, exploitation, and illegal conduct
The following are prohibited:
- credible threats, praise or instruction for violence, terrorism, self-harm, or abuse;
- sexual exploitation, non-consensual sexual content, trafficking, grooming, or any sexual content involving minors;
- fraud, scams, extortion, blackmail, identity theft, money laundering, or deceptive fundraising;
- selling or facilitating illegal drugs, weapons, stolen goods, forged documents, or other unlawful transactions;
- malware, credential theft, security circumvention, scraping private data, or attempts to compromise accounts; and
- using private information or a position of trust to control, isolate, financially exploit, or manipulate another person.
Get a Murshid is not an emergency or crisis service. If someone appears to face immediate danger, contact local emergency services or an appropriate crisis resource. Do not promise that Platform messages are continuously monitored.
4. Guidance and professional boundaries
Stay within your competence
Murshids must accurately distinguish lived experience and general guidance from licensed professional advice. Do not diagnose, prescribe, represent that you are acting as someone’s lawyer, clinician, therapist, financial adviser, immigration representative, or other regulated professional unless you are lawfully qualified and the Platform expressly permits that service.
No guarantees or dependency
- Do not guarantee jobs, visas, admissions, investment returns, healing, relationships, religious outcomes, or other results.
- Do not pressure a Seeker to ignore qualified professionals, family support, emergency services, or independent advice.
- Do not create emotional, spiritual, financial, or personal dependency to sell more services.
- Disclose relevant conflicts, sponsorships, referral compensation, and material limits to your knowledge.
Keep the relationship appropriate
Respect the agreed topic, time, communication channel, and service boundaries. Sexual or exploitative relationships arising from a guidance relationship are prohibited. Do not demand secrecy about ordinary Platform safety or payment rules.
5. Identity, credentials, and marketplace integrity
- Use your real identity and current information; do not impersonate people or organizations.
- Do not falsify education, work history, licenses, experience, testimonials, attendance, or verification documents.
- Do not buy, sell, transfer, or coordinate deceptive accounts.
- Do not manipulate availability, seat counts, service completion, discounts, referrals, or Platform rankings.
- Do not spam, mass-message, post repetitive promotions, or recruit users into unrelated schemes.
- Do not use automation to scrape profiles, send unsolicited messages, or interfere with Platform operation.
A verification badge means only that specified checks were completed at a point in time. Users must not describe it as a guarantee, endorsement, professional license, or promise of outcomes.
6. Privacy, confidentiality, and recording
- Share only the personal information reasonably needed for the service.
- Do not publish another person’s private question, message, contact details, documents, meeting link, financial information, or identity without permission.
- Do not record, transcribe, screenshot, or use a call for training, publicity, or artificial-intelligence processing unless every participant receives clear advance notice and gives any consent required by law.
- Store downloaded materials securely and delete them when no longer needed.
- Never ask for passwords, one-time codes, complete card details, government-account credentials, or unnecessary identity documents.
Murshids must treat private guidance as confidential. A serious and credible threat of harm may be reported to the Platform or appropriate authorities when permitted or required by law. See our Privacy Policy.
7. Content, intellectual property, and reviews
Do not upload or send content that:
- you do not have permission to use;
- reveals private or confidential information;
- is fraudulent, dangerously misleading, sexually exploitative, hateful, or unlawfully discriminatory;
- contains malware, deceptive links, or instructions intended to compromise systems; or
- uses another person’s image, voice, or work deceptively.
Reviews must come from genuine Platform experiences and reflect the reviewer’s honest opinion. Do not trade payments, discounts, threats, or retaliation for a review; coordinate fake reviews; review yourself; or pressure someone to remove accurate criticism. Incentives must be clearly disclosed where permitted.
8. Payments, scheduling, and service conduct
- Use Platform payment flows for Platform services. Do not solicit off-platform payment to avoid fees, protections, refunds, or records.
- Do not abuse promotions, refunds, disputes, chargebacks, attendance controls, or no-show reporting.
- Set accurate prices and availability, arrive on time, and cancel promptly when necessary.
- Do not share paid access, private links, attachments, or recordings with unregistered participants.
- Do not mark a service complete or claim attendance falsely.
Refund eligibility is governed by the cancellation and refund policy, not by threats, pressure, or side agreements that contradict Platform protections.
9. Reporting a concern
Use our contact page to report a safety, privacy, conduct, or account concern. Include the relevant user, service or transaction reference, date, and a concise description. Preserve original evidence; do not edit screenshots in a misleading way or publicly expose private information to make a report.
Reports should be made in good faith. Knowingly false, malicious, duplicative, or retaliatory reports may themselves lead to action. We may limit what we disclose about another user or an investigation for privacy and safety reasons.
10. Enforcement and appeals
Depending on severity and risk, we may:
- provide education or a warning;
- remove or restrict content, listings, messaging, reviews, or features;
- cancel a service, protect a payment, hold a payout, or refer a transaction for review;
- require identity, credential, or safety verification;
- temporarily suspend or permanently remove an account; or
- notify payment providers, affected users, or lawful authorities where appropriate.
Severe violations may result in immediate action without a prior warning. Attempts to evade enforcement through another account are prohibited. To request review, use the contact page, identify the decision, and explain any factual error or relevant context. An appeal does not automatically pause a safety measure.
